Sigma Design Journeyman Electrician – Plant Maintenance in Portland, Oregon

Journeyman Electrician - Plant Maintenance 

SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a global company that specializes in glass container products who are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician - Plant Maintenance individual to join their facility in Portland, Oregon. This company believes in continuous innovation, and leverages creativity and technology to transform their industry. 

The Plant Maintenance Electrician installs, repairs, dismantles, assembles and maintains plant machinery, equipment, structures, and electrical or electronic equipment and component parts.

Hourly Pay Rate:  $63.94

Schedule:  12 hour shift (straight days: 7am - 7pm)

The Plant Maintenance Electrician will:

  • Plan and perform work using complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop handbooks, layouts and other specifications (written or verbal) to determine materials and working procedures needed in the maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and structures.

  • Weld, braze, scrape, solder, cut, etc. various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment.

  • Lubricate, grease, oil, etc. plant machinery and equipment.

  • Construct rigging and scaffolding; move heavy machinery and equipment.

  • Perform a variety of additional trade functions as needed including plumbing, masonry, carpentry. and sheet metal work, etc.

The Plant Maintenance Electrician should have:

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical or electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation and application of electrical or electronic equipment such as motors, switches, control boards, generators, circuit breakers, electronic inspection units, etc.

  • Experience in 480v motors and controls.

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Journeyman Maintenance Electrician with a Journeyman Electrical License issued by the State of Oregon
