Labcorp Cytogenetic Team Leader in Portland, Oregon

Are you an experienced Cytogenetics Technologist? Are you looking to looking to embark on a new challenge in your career? If so, LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our team as a Team Lead Cytogenetics- Technologist in Portland OR. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".

Along with overseeing cytogenetics referrals, FISH analysis, Team Lead skills are needed for compliance, training, inventory management, and daily operations. High need for client service and consultant skills regarding ordering and resulting, provider interaction required.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

Location: 1225 northeast 2nd Avenue Portland, OR

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Installation and verification of new analyzers or methods, procedure management and documentation,

  • Staff training and competency, quality assurance, quality control monitoring, development and evaluation of new process or workflow improvements, ensuring CAP accreditation preparedness,

  • Performing projects or tasks as requested by technical manager or pathologist.

  • Available daily to provide feedback and technical assistance to staff when needed.

  • Communicates status of department to lab manager on daily basis.

  • Monitor, update the protocols as needed to promote quality and patient safety through risk reduction and continuous improvement,

  • Managing the Monthly Quality Report, electronically share completed reports with lab management and discipline medical director.

  • Organize and confirm the completion of senior technologist duties. Collect all required reports, forms, review for completion, signatures, and file.

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, SharePoint).

  • Ability to work independently, adjust to changing environment, perform multitasking, and apply problem solving skills.

  • Train, mentor, and assess competency of lab personnel, monitor workflow and schedule coverage, may require administrative duties.

  • Operates as a Technical Consultant and Supervisor per CLIA.

  • Acts as a system-wide technical resource for a given specialty area(s) for clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

  • Minimum of 3 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required

  • ASCP certification in Cytogenetics,CG(ASCP)

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus

  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
