Our client, One Community Health (OCH), operates as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), providing integrated healthcare and outreach programs to an underserved population in The Columbia River Gorge. In response to expanding services, they need a Controller to oversee financial operations, ensuring adherence to non-profit accounting principles and contributing to fulfilling their mission of advancing health and social justice for all members of the community.

As a pivotal team member, this Controller will manage intermediate accounting and fiscal record-keeping activities, ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting principles. Collaborating with various departments, you'll play a crucial role in achieving organizational objectives. what you will do…

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

● Lead the accounting team in generating accurate and timely financial reports.

● Prepare monthly board reports and manage contract pharmacy revenue.

● Analyze financial data to provide strategic insights for informed decision-making.

● Align financial strategies with organizational objectives.

● Contribute to annual budgeting and analyze deviations from planned spending.

● Contribute to pro-formas supporting new and existing service lines.

Financial Management and Compliance:

● Safeguard company assets by meticulously maintaining the general ledger and reconciling accounts.

● Assist in cash management and bank account reconciliation processes.

● Offer recommendations to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.

● Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and adopt new accounting standards.

● Develop and implement financial policies adhering to regulatory requirements.

● Manage bonus incentive plans and oversee grant accounting.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

● Coach and develop the accounting team.

● Support the CFO in liaison activities with auditors for financial and insurance audits.

● Collaborate with tax specialists for compliance and precise tax filings.

● Oversee the accounting integration of acquired businesses.

● Work closely with the Revenue Cycle Director, focusing on A/R management.

● Engage in special projects and innovative strategies.

Requirements

what will make you a top candidate…

● 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years of managerial experience.

● Proficiency in financial software, GAAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.

● Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

● Understanding of healthcare finance, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred but not required:

● Experience working for an FQHC.

● CPA certification; Master's in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.

● Bilingual in Spanish/English.

● Familiarity with HRSA requirements.

● Proficiency in Abila software, MIP, ADP Payroll, and multi-location financial environments.

● Experience with Access and PowerPoint.
