POSITION - UNION: Radio Ser Test/Inst 1/C

NUMBER OF OPEN POSITIONS: 1

LOCATION: CMP-ME - Portland - Canco Rd

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASSIFICATION:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance and removal of the Company\'s two-way radio systems and equipment in accordance with all Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records and other documentation as required for operations and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
  • Assist in investigating and locating sources of interference caused by CMP facilities.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as directed.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE APPLICANT:

  • Must become thoroughly familiar with the Company\'s construction standards, field operating procedures, safety instructions and general orders.
  • Must hold a valid Maine State Motor Vehicle Operator\'s License.
  • Must have a 2 year technical degree in electronics or its equivalent.
  • Must have a working knowledge of FCC rules and regulations pertaining to two-way radio communications.
  • Must be able to complete the essential functions of the classification which include being able to reach remote radio sites, climb radio towers and lift and install radios and associated power equipment.
  • Must be able to work unscheduled overtime and respond to \"after hours\" callouts.
