Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine's Occupational Therapy Department invites applications for a part-time faculty opening for our Fall 2024 semester, beginning September 3, 2024.

Responsibilities of Part Time Faculty include developing a course syllabus and adhering to the corresponding schedule of course content; responding to student inquiries of course material, both during class time and over email; administering course assignments and/or exams; and grading student coursework in a timely manner.

We are seeking instructor(s) with expertise in pediatrics for face-to-face courses, and in occupational science to cover an asynchronous, online, doctoral course, Occupational Science (OTH 735). This course will explore the history, theoretical foundations, and research methodologies of occupational science, as well as the application of occupational science for occupational therapy practice.

Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit hour basis based on prior teaching experience. USM also offers part-time faculty the opportunity for development frequently through our Center for Collaboration and Development (CCD) and the chance to get an online teaching certification and training through CTEL, in addition to other developmental opportunities open to all staff throughout the year.
