Job Summary

Job Title: Deli Cashier

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Deli Manager

Deli Clerks have the opportunity to improve the breakfast, lunch and dinner tables of our guests by providing a wide variety of delicious meal options.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides excellent services to all guests

  • Cashier guests' items as needed

  • Assists guests with locating items on or off the sales floor

  • Occasionally may demo Signature Items, Stock-Ups, Surprise Buys, Salads, Spreads, Cheese, Dips, etc.

  • Assists Hot Bar associates with replenishing items and ensuring that a high standard of quality meal choices are provided at all times

  • Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues by practicing the boomerang principal

  • Maintain food safety logs

  • Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment

  • Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: knives, baler, trash compactor, burner, and shams

  • Ability to encourage guests in a sincere way to try a sample of one of our products

  • Ability to understand cooking instructions and communicate to guests

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly

  • Lifting up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis

    WORK SCHEDULE

    The Deli Cashier position is a part-time, hourly position

    The shift to be worked will be 10am-6pm, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
