JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Paint Technician

FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

SUMMARY

Position is responsible for changes, set-up, and maintenance of machine and equipment parameters. The Paint Tech must follow and maintain safety practices to ensure that self and other team members are working in a safe environment to prevent injuries. Responsible for assuring that all machines and equipment are properly functioning. Interfaces with purchasing, shipping, receiving, molding, finishing, engineering, and quality assurance to assure products are produced in a timely and cost effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically capable of walking for the entire work shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Repeated bending and lifting during the shift. Must be able to wear steel-toe footwear. Ability to work from heights with proper PPE

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Under administrative direction and general supervision for the following major tasks (check those that apply):

Assists in supervising and managing shift and training of operators and utilities. Serves as acting Supervisor when Supervisor is absent Assists in coordinating work flow throughout department Adjusts, PM's, and monitors machines to assure product control Coordinates and advises product and production problems and changes with peers on other shifts Provides technical expertise and collaborates with other departments as necessary to assure quality, productivity, and inspection procedures meet with department and shift needs Participates in company programs such as communications, job training, etc. Complies with all applicable rules and regulations of the company Sets, troubleshoots, and adjusts all paint and secondary equipment. Complete all applicable reports Completes process set-up verifications and changes to insure that product meets design intent and customer specifications Insures that all daily process checks are completed accurately Uses a variety of tools to perform machine set-up and troubleshooting including mixing paint, pad-a-print, hot stamp. SPC charting of color and gloss reading from paint samples or molded parts. Repair and rebuild paint guns and paint racks as needed Measures and complies with environmental health and safety system Monitors housekeeping and maintains good housekeeping Performs other duties as required or directed Ensures communication of any changes to process is documented on OIS and training is complete. Functions as utility for the paint line.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

One year work-related experience, and successful completion of all related training courses or be willing to enroll in next available class. Must meet job posting requirements as outlined in the company handbook.
