ManTech Engineering Technician IV in Port Hueneme, California

Join our dynamic team at ManTech International, where innovation meets excellence in the realm of advanced engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineering Technician IV to join our office in Port Hueneme, CA

Summary :

This position supports the Naval Warfare Center (NWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division’s maintenance support to Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Assist with UNREP equipment overhaul during maintenance availabilities

  • Assist ship engineer’s in organizing advanced planning efforts and then travel to the ship to execute the maintenance requirements

  • complete troubleshooting to restore UNREP equipment to operational use

  • required to become a subject matter expert in UNREP equipment maintenance and operation through on the job learning and training at the UNREP Test Site

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Ten (10) years experience in Naval deck/engineering operations and commensurate maintenance requirements OR 15 years’ experience in technical maintenance (auto, oilfield equipment, machine work, etc.) in lieu of above

  • Experience communicating professionally with ManTech employees and ManTech clients

  • Experience with observing and reporting findings

  • Experience communicating with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations

  • Experience climbing ladders, pulling cable and execution of proper installation methods

  • Experience working aboard a ship inclusive of in a shipyard environment

  • Experience working alone and as part of a team

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Power Point

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Performing UNREP Station material condition assessments and performing overhaul mechanical maintenance on Underway Replenishment equipment

  • Experience using wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and verbal and written instructions to route, tag, test and terminate shipboard cables

  • Experience with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentation

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship and a Current and active US Secret Security Clearance, Active Interim US Secret Clearance is acceptable to start

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

  • Must be able to carry up to 50lbs

  • Ability to climb up multiple flights of stairs, planks or galley ways

  • Crawling and maneuvering in confined spaces or bilge areas, if required

  • Operate standard office equipment

  • The person in this position must be capable to go onboard a ship in an operational and industrial environment

  • Able to climb ladders and go through scuttles onboard vessels

  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual

The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700-$112,100. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
