Job Information

CpK Interior Products Quality Engineer in Port Hope, Ontario

  1. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  2. Follow safety procedures and comply with all related safety and security regulations. Take action to correct unsafe work habits. Operate equipment safely. Report and/or correct unsafe work conditions as appropriate.

  3. Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition in accordance with established housekeeping standards.

  4. Addresses and co-ordinates in an expedient manner, all Log Issues, Spec Changes, and Part Studies related to assigned, current, and advance programs in association with the product engineer.

  5. Participate, facilitates and/or completes assigned projects in all CpK/customer product development teams and other teams (such as Process Enhancement Team, BUCIT’s, and Q.O.S.) that relates directly with assigned, current and advance programs in conformance with IATF 16949:2016

  6. Communicates and travels when necessary and at prescribed frequencies to respond in a timely manner to customer issues, concerns, complaints, rejects, and warranty issues that relate to the complete quality of the product supplied (ie. fit, form, function, service, appearance, etc.).

  7. Adheres and co-ordinates in the allotted time, all responsibilities as it relates to Advance Product Quality Planning/Program Management Model as stipulated by the customer, CpK Port Hope’s Quality Systems Policy and Procedure Manuals (including associated tier III documentation).

  8. Ensures all measuring and test equipment including check fixtures and staging fixtures have gage repeatability reproducibility studies performed, documented, certified, inspected, calibrated (to N.I.S.T.), updated and identified per CpK Port Hope’s Quality Systems Policy and Procedure Manuals (including associated tier III documentation).

  9. Ensures that all customer (and supplier) PPAP documentation/requirements are approved, maintained, and filed per customer specific requirements and elements P2-001, P16-001, P23-001, P24-001 of the Quality Systems Policy and Procedure Manuals (including associated tier III documentation). This may include, but is not limited to warrants, control plans (all types), FMEA’s (all types), records, appearance approval reports, dimensional results, test results, process capability studies, measurement system studies, design engineering approval, sample submissions, engineering changes.

  10. Ensures suppliers in association with purchasing are provided with (and complete) the appropriate CpK Port Hope, CpK and customer documents including (where appropriate, but not limited to a) Supplier Quality Assurance Manual b) Engineering drawings and updates c) PPAP Procedure/Requirements d) Hole check sheets e) Detailed Inspection Procedures f) Inspection Layout Methods g) Check Fixtures h) APQP/Program Management Model requirements I) Statistical Procedures/Techniques.

  11. Reports and conveys existing and advance programs issues/status/activities in a timely and consistent manner at a bi-monthly and month end frequency to the Quality Systems Manager and those individuals and/or groups that require such information on a regular and agreed upon manner as determined appropriate.

  12. Participate and/or facilitates in continuous improvement activities (including associated tier III documentation) related to assignments that will promote productivity, reduce warranty costs/returns, reduce overall cost, improve material utilization and enhance complete quality.

  13. Participate, facilitates, and/or completes activities designed to ensure customer, quality and operational goals are satisfied.

  14. Ensure returns are minimized, dispositioned and repeat customer complaints are eliminated through permanent counter measures as stipulated through P13-001, P14-001, P14-002, P22-001, and P24-001 of the Quality Systems Procedure Manual (including associated tier III documentation).

  15. Facilitates solution to daily quality issues/concerns/rejects with Quality Supervisor, Production Auditor, Quality Control Manager, and other appropriate disciplines.

  16. Approves/dispositions suppliers PPAP packages, and ensures master colour and appearance standards are received and maintained by the colour lab and suppliers.

  17. Reacts, analyzes, and dispositions all required capability studies for designated product characteristics, and modified tooling (in association with the Product Engineer).

Ensures (with Product Engineer) that all customer specifications, CpK Port Hope specifications, Detailed Inspection Procedures, Inspection/Test Plans, New Part Authorizations, and Customer Approvals are maintained current and on file per P16-001,
