LogistiQ Machine Operator in Port Clinton, Ohio

SUMMARY: Operates metalworking machinery to assist in the fabrication of company products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs set-ups & operate various types of machinery including but not limited to saws, shear, punch presses, cold saws, reamers, tube shearer, axle machines, cross tie press, drill press, and stake machine
  • Ensure quality of product by meeting engineering specifications
  • Other mechanical assembly as instructed/trained

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of mechanical drawings preferred
  • Ability to operate hand tools required
  • Understands angles and the use of a protractor preferred
  • Ability to read calibration equipment including but not limited to micrometers and calipers preferred
  • Able to pass math & measurement assessment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 1 year of manufacturing machinery experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must have basic reading and writing skills

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals
  • Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16"

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Basic data entry skills including how to print documents

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is an industrial metal fabrication shop with exposure to airborne dust and moving industrial machinery. The noise level in the non-air conditioned work environment is usually moderate. Steel toe shoes are required.
