Job Description: The Marine Painter assists with properly cleaning, preparing, and painting interior and exterior surfaces of yachts and other marine vessels and associated equipment using handheld or power tools for the application of coatings and paint products.  They will adhere to proper painting procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards while ensuring job-site cleanliness.

Duties and Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and orderly job-site at all times.
  • Perform surface preparation activities, ensuring thorough cleaning, sanding, and application of primers before painting.
  • Apply paint/coatings using air assisted spraying equipment, brush, or roller, including application of various types of non-skid.
  • Tend spray hoses and assist during paint shoots as needed.
  • Perform work in various locations such as confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor environments with exposure to changing weather conditions.
  • Maintain positive attitude and professionalism toward workers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Follow guidelines for the mandatory use of timecards and sign-in sheets.
  • Abide by all company policies in company handbook and any additions.

* Education, Experience, Skills and Qualifications:*

  • Knowledge of paint application fundamentals and advanced professional application technique, consistency, and proficiency (Awlgrip coating products).
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within often changing priorities with enthusiasm. Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
  • Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Awlgrip coating systems and application.
  • Proficiency with painting related hand and power tools.
  • Experience with use of pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift (required).
  • Attention to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
  • High School or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous paint preparation experience: 2 years (preferred).
