Position Summary

The Ultimate position for this role will be the responsibility for managing physical plant and maintenance operations for our new site in San Antonio, however the initial period of the role will be to join the team from JCB that are planning and coordinating the construction and development of our new factory.

When the factory is in production the person will oversee building scheduling and maintenance, custodial, security, construction, and/or grounds maintenance. Plan and implements capital renewal and replacement projects for the facility and develops and implements operating policies and procedures.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Development Phase

  • Work collaboratively with project team members
  • Review and comment on all project documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development planning,
  • Attend meetings with the design team and contractor and provide answers to RFIs.
  • Inspection of workmanship and quality and produce reports.
  • Monitoring of Safety of work on site during the construction and development.
  • Checking that building plans are being followed correctly.
  • Measuring and quality checking building materials
  • Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them.
  • Monitoring progress and produce reports.
  • Keeping detailed records of work, taking photographs along with measurements and samples.

Production Phase (after the factory is built)

  • Project manages multi-craft activities involved in preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance, cleaning, repair and renovation of buildings, mechanical systems, physical plant, and/or grounds.
  • Oversees activities of contractors, vendor personnel, and suppliers; Monitors contracts for compliance and controls costs; monitors general expenditures of unit; performs quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Assists in facility and space usage planning.
  • Performs quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the site.
  • Develops and maintains emergency/disaster preparedness and recovery plans.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five- Seven years of Site Services experience in a similar industry
  • Experience of working on a construction site.
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and pre-employment tests as applicable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Facilities Management Certification or construction related certification.
  • 7+ Year of Facilities Management Experience in a Manufacturing Facility
  • Six-Sigma certification

  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local codes and ordinances pertinent to facilities planning, design and construction.
