The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist (Laser) 1^nd^ Shift join our team. This position supports manufacturing and is responsible for the set up and operation of the Laser Machine; supporting continuous flow of material through the cell.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Set-up and operation of miscellaneous CNC, including mills, lathes, drills, grinders, hone, lap, deburr, etc. 
  2. Machine and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications
  3. Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications
  4. Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces
  5. Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensures that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained
  6. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation
  7. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated
  8. Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards
  9. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell
  10. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations
  11. Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of machined parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput

*Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 *

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with standard measuring tools

Experience with the following is desired:

  • CNC Lathe and Mill experience
  • CNC Laser / Laser Weld
  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints
  • Possess solid fundamentals in GD&T
  • Must have experience with a variety of standard and dedicated gauging approaches
  • Experience with aerospace materials such as SST, Inconels, Hast X, Aluminum, etc. is a plus
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches)
  • U. S. Citizenship status required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
