Job description

MAIN FUNCTION:

  • Responsible for improving process controls reliability,
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of instrumentation and controls.
  • Responsible for insuring consistency between locations.
  • Responding to and resolving instrumentation and control issues in.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the development and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Responsible for insuring consistency between locations and meet corporate expectations and standards.
  • Development of instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets and specifications, to be in full compliance with recognized industry standards, safety standards.
  • Develop technical tabulation to support the selection of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Assist in the technical development of assigned plant project P&IDs.
  • Assist in the development of I &E project schedules and manpower requirements.
  • Provide support for procurement of instrument items.
  • Manage convert DCS from PROVOX to Delta V and other software upgrades.
  • Ensure the plants have the right people and training to operate and maintain the companys instrumentation and control systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of reliability in all controls, instrumentation and emission monitoring systems.
  • Develop programs to prevent accidents and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Respond when and where needed during emergency downtime situations or when problems occur.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • High energy level, team player, excellent work ethic, with strong project management skills.
  • Able to develop and enhance relationship with customers, suppliers, auditors, attorneys and local community leaders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two year technical degree (Electrical Engineering or Technology)
  • Minimum of five years previous experience working as an instrument and electrical technician or equivalent job function in an industrial manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with Fisher- Rosemonts DeltaV, digital control systems.
