Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Manage a team of Literacy Specialists to implement professional learning services in the Southeast region. Meet annual revenue targets for Professional Learning Services through partnership with Sales and customers. Contribute to Professional Learning Services operations and strategic goals as a member of the PLS leadership team. Sustain and deepen relationships with customers, evangelizing evidence-based best practices in literacy instruction. Support educators in improving literacy instruction to help all children learn to read and love to read.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and provide leadership to a regional team of Literacy Specialists.

  • Prepare team to deliver professional learning and provide coaching to district partners.

  • Recruit and train professional learning team members to meet evolving needs based on Scholastic product/solutions and K-12 industry trends.

  • Pre-sale: partner with Regional Sales Director and team of aligned account executives to develop and deepen relationships with customers, position services, develop proposals; achieve annual revenue target.

  • Post-sale: partner with districts to schedule and implement Services. Maintain the highest standard of service by consistently monitoring progress, evaluating/observing quality of PL, regularly communicating with districts and other stakeholders regarding service experience.

  • Contribute to the development of professional learning content, resources and tools as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of and experience with:

  • Evidence-based best practices in literacy instruction based on Science of Reading research.

  • Student-centered coaching and data-driven planning

  • Excellent skills in of Microsoft Office and Power Point

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Facilitation skills, professionalism and creativity

  • Knowledge of the human change process and adult learning theories

Experience and Education: Degree in education or reading related field, Masters Degree preferred

Experience:

  • At least 5-7 years' experience facilitating professional learning in literacy and/or reading

  • Minimum of 7-10 years teaching/coaching experience  

  • Instructional coaching experience preferred

  • Ability to maintain a travel schedule of 50%

  • Valid driver’s license

Education: Degree in education or reading related field, Master's Degree preferred
