POSITION SUMMARY

The Catering Associate is responsible for preparing foods in accordance with appropriate recipes and production sheets. The Associate transports food and related items to the appropriate catering site. The Associate is also responsible for aiding in cleaning the work area in accordance with the Department of Health requirements.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read and communicate English is required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE:

Prior food preparation experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.

Requires frequent standing and stooping, as well as pushing and lifting moderately heavy to heavy things.

Requires working in adverse conditions such as: wet floors, extreme change of temperature, sharp/dangerous equipment, and hot foods and liquids.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Food Production Manager at the Mainland division and reports to the Food Services Supervisor at the City division.
