Become Business Plan Development Sr Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job you will lead a team of up to six individuals to develop company-wide business plans. You will collaborate with partners across SCE to translate strategies into actionable plans to achieve long-term company objectives. You will oversee the team to develop investment options, evaluate trade-offs for portfolio scenarios, and present business plan recommendations to senior leadership. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead a team to coordinate cross-functional efforts to build investment options designed to achieve company strategic objectives

  • Develop business plan portfolio scenarios through consultation with Operations, Strategy, and Finance

  • Evaluate business plan portfolios to understand impacts on companywide strategic objectives and identify trade-offs based on company priorities

  • Guide development of presentations to summarize recommendations, costs and benefits of work activities, and how the value of activities changes at different volumes of work

  • Publish and communicate finalized business plan including guidance for operating plans and evaluation of execution feasibility, financial and regulatory implications

The essentials

  • 5 or more years of experience managing/supervising an organization/unit and or 5 or more years project management experience.

  • Experience leading business analysis (e.g. financial modeling, operational planning, business case development, etc.) and/or strategic planning.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or other business-related discipline

  • Understanding of operational units (e.g. T&D, ASP, CS, IT, etc.)

  • Ability to develop communication materials (e.g. power point) and facilitate decision making conversations with senior leadership

  • Experience pulling and synthesizing data from various sources, cost-benefit analysis, risk management, statistical analysis, and/or developing business cases for SCE activities

  • Sufficient depth of expertise in focus area(s) to check data and decisions

  • Experience in quantifying risk, costs, and benefits of various SCE activities

  • Experience with coordinating or developing components of the General Rate Case

  • Financial modeling skills, including operational planning or budgeting

  • Strong logical thinking and quick learning abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
