LAKE COUNTY Deputy Clerk & Recorder in POLSON, Montana

The Lake County Clerk & Recorders Office is accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk & Recorder. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess at least 2 years of experience in a clerical field working closely with the public. Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. Ability to learn quickly and retain instructions. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, clearly and legibly. Ability to perform mathematical functions and accurately handle cash. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, email and Internet. Knowledge regarding records management technology, retention schedules and user needs. Preferred knowledge of microfilm and quality control and electronic records management. Skilled in use of calculator, facsimile machines, scanners and other standard office equipment. Complete a variety of job duties quickly and efficiently, simultaneously with interruptions. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with courthouse personnel and the public. DUTIES: Inspect documents, surveys, plats, etc., to determine if they comply with the recording or filing requirements. Record, file and maintain legal documents in a timely and accurate manner when received in the office. Respond to the public inquires in a pleasant, efficient and professional manner. Perform a variety of general clerical duties and public contact work when necessary. Make copies of documents that transfer property for Plat Room. Accurately extract data from documents for indexing. Issue birth and death certificates and maintain accurate index of such. Help employees, businesses, and members of the public with gathering information. Perform other duties as assigned. HOURS/DAYS: Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday WAGE: $17.50/hourly BENEFITS: Lake County offers excellent benefits!
