Program SummaryKBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

As a Cost Control Specialist, Senior, you will lead the forecasting, control, and reporting of project costs within our organization. Your role involves developing comprehensive project variances, conducting trending and expenditure analysis, and delivering completion reports. Under general supervision, you'll tackle complex problems, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of industry best practices in project controls to enhance processes. Additionally, you may guide less experienced team members through your wealth of experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Advanced Cost Forecasting:
  • Develop accurate and detailed project cost forecasts considering various factors like labor productivity, material prices, subcontracting, wage rates, and risk analysis.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis to calculate future costs, providing valuable insights into project financials.

  1. Process Improvement:
  • Utilize problem-solving skills and experience to identify and implement improvements in project cost control processes.

  • Enhance efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to the continuous improvement of project management practices.

  1. Leadership and Guidance:
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members, sharing your expertise in project controls.

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

  1. Detailed Expenditure Analysis:
  • Review project costs by category, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints.

  • Perform complex trending and expenditure analysis, offering strategic recommendations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in project controls or cost management.

  • Strong English proficiency (Level II) in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.

  • Preferably holds a university-level education or equivalent.

  • In-depth knowledge of computer skills, with a preference for a programming background.

  • Proficient in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, with the ability to adapt to changing deadlines and pressures.

  • Capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent work ethics.

  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and customer service.

  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of project management and within various departments.
