Job Description

Role Summary

GM Canada’s Montreal Parts and Distribution Centre, located in Point Claire, QC, has a unique opportunity for a bilingual Engineering student to work on multiple value-added projects. Projects will focus on improving the safety and efficiency of the work environment and implementing new safety standards. The successful candidate should have an interest in safety and operations, demonstrate initiative and be fully bilingual in both French and English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Roof replacement project

  • Implement racking maintenance project for the warehouse

  • Revise and Update building layouts

  • Work on various maintenance initiatives for process improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Co-Op preferred), and in your 2nd/3rd/4th year of study

  • Must be eligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada for 4-8 months work term (1-2 consecutive semesters) starting May 2022

  • Bilingual, with proficiency in French language (advanced-fluent)

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill

  • Highly adaptable and able to work independently and in a team environment

  • Fundamental digital literacy including proven understanding of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD (or other computer aided drawing program)

  • Must be willing to work on the weekend occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous warehousing experience

  • Candidate selected for this opening will not be eligible for TPT employment following completion of this work term
