Savage is hiring a Class 1 Truck Driver in Point Tupper!

    Here’s a preview of what you’ll be doing:

    Safely and efficiently transport coal to and from our customer's locations. Drive a rotation of 12-hour shifts (this site operates 7 days/week and shifts may change based on operational needs).

    What are we looking for?

  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License

  • Willing to load trucks (with coal) using a payloader – training provided if required

  • High School or GED

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Minimum of 1-year experience operating tractor/trailer combination

  • The ability to:

  • work from written and verbal instructions

  • work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules

  • safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others

  • work overtime as required

  • read, write, and understand English

  • Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift, including weekends (no overnight work)

    Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the willingness and ability to work at heights as well as climb stairs

  • Lift up to 50 pounds

  • Work in an environment containing coal dust and in hot, cold, and wet environments

  • Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position

  • Candidates must be willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
