JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance on the equipment in the facility. The position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting and working in awkward positions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform diversified duties to maintain production machines and the plant facility\'s equipment. Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical repair manuals, and electrical prints. Must be able to operate a forklift and scissor lift. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Assist in performing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: At least 3 years of production maintenance preferred. Basic computer skills Strong math skills Dedicated and takes pride in providing a high level of detail towards equipment maintenance, projects, general housekeeping and maintaining all shop areas in a neat and organized fashion Manufacturing, mechanical and industrial skills required Knowledge of equipment used in the plastic extrusion industry is preferred but not required. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds.
