Northrop Grumman has an exciting opening for a Manager Navigation and Systems Engineering 2 to join our team in Plymouth, MN.

Responsibilities of this role:

Lead and develop a team of Specialty engineers within the System Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) department. The Specialty Engineer (SpE) Team supports all Northrop Grumman Armament System programs in the product areas of safety engineering, reliability engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Unit Product Cost analysis and product Cybersecurity.

Specific responsibilities and desired experience include:

  • Drive Team technical excellence in SpecE. Balance group workload and staffing requirements to meet current and future program needs. Staff all programs.

  • Coach direct reports in the areas of career development, performance, and teamwork.

  • Provide training and development opportunities. Provide continual feedback and hold mid-year and end-of-year performance communications.

  • Effectively lead a diverse team of specialty engineers in a dynamic product development environment.

  • Possess SME level skills in multiple SpE domains.

  • Have credible experience with both product and facility safety practices for our industry as applied in local and international settings

  • Effectively represent our org at sector level reviews of products and policies.

  • Have depth of knowledge in US DoD product development and acquisition approaches.

  • Have experience with fast paced agile team engagement on development and production

  • Experience and success working with DoD Safety boards, internal and external safety review boards

  • Understand ILS and related product support practices

  • Understand Cybersecurity methods/practice as they relate to our products, customers, and contractual requirements

  • Maintain a "learning organization" where each team member is expected to teach and learn.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • At least 14 years of Engineering experience

  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Team management and/or Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSME, MSEE

  • Department team leadership, supervisory, or people management experience.

Salary Range: $145,000 - $217,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
