Your Opportunity

As a GIS Intern with Stantec you will provide technical support which includes mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production; as well as provide support for assigned projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Use geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information Systems

  • Managing GIS data and databases for larger multi-disciplinary studies.

  • GIS analysis and mapping for environmental and infrastructure projects

  • Develop web maps/applications.

  • Supporting electronic data collection in the field.

  • Develop GIS-based scripts, models and tools.

  • Performs allocated project tasks within quality, time and budget requirements.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of Geographical Information Systems

  • Knowledge of ESRI software suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps and Survey 123

  • Knowledge of Python and Autocad

  • Developing skills utilizing relevant geographic software programs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team

Education and Experience

Completed or working towards a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in GIS or related field.

Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.

Position will work primarily in an office setting, but will have opportunities to work in the field.
