Responsible for initiating EH&S policies, procedures and programs which are in-line with federal, state, local & Teleflex regulations, standards, and requirements. Reinforces and drives Teleflex's EH&S vision of Zero Harm to people and environment. *Principal Responsibilities* • Under direct supervision, the EHS Intern will be responsible for providing technical support on day-to-day activities relating to compliance with safety and environmental standards and best practices. • The Intern will assist the EHS department with projects ranging from scope definition through implementation. • Participate in incident investigation and assist with the closure of corrective actions from these activities. • Conduct risk assessments of work areas and assist in the evaluation of equipment safety. • Assist in the development and review of EHS programs guiding regulatory compliance and workplace risk reduction. • Develop working knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations as well as consensus standards. • Participate in the development and review of employee training materials for various safety and health competencies. • Other duties that align with the development, improvement, and management of the site EHS Core Management System (CMS). *Education / Experience Requirements* High School Diploma or equivalent required Candidate must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences/ Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field Upperclassmen preferred (Junior & Senior) *Specialized Skills / Other Requirements* Strong problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Strong work ethic and the ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver concrete deliverables in a timely manner.
