The Vertical Market Business Development Manager's primary responsibility is to pursue and capture targeted new data center accounts/customers. In this critical and impactful role, he/she will secure high value sales orders and establish Daikin as a strategic supplier partner to these accounts. Target accounts are to be aligned to the data center vertical market sales strategy where the primary focus is on developing select owner/operator customers by teaming with assigned sales representatives and direct account engagement with the rep. Other target accounts may include select contractor-buyers and/or developing specifying engineer relationships by teaming with Daikin solution SMEs (subject matter experts) and sales reps. A Day in the Life: Formulate and execute sales strategies to capture and sustain sales results for assigned target accounts. Promote data center vertical market value proposition and solution offerings to account customer decision-makers and key influencers, with/through sales rep and directly to customer. Gather and report customer expectations, buying trends, technology 'intel', other customer insights to data center vertical market and solution leaders. Organize and facilitate periodic account reviews with assigned sales rep, field sales teams, and select solution leaders, product managers. Support, promote, and drive solutions, offerings and programs to support vertical market growth and consistency in the district office business, including to sales representatives. Work with Company Sales offices and the Rep organizations to focus efforts on increasing sales with assigned data center accounts. Actively manage pipeline and participate in scheduled pipeline reviews with data center vertical market team. Utilize the National Accounts Authorized REP national accounts program, including regular reviews with team and adherence to expectations. Make recommendations for continual improvements to the program. Support the organization, broader teams, and business development groups in training, mentoring and coaching the field in the delivery of vertical market offerings and solutions. Identify, participate, and drive Daikin brand at key marketing events such as trade shows, networking events. Work closely with marketing to leverage resource and seek deeper participation such as speaker events, publishing opportunities. Monitor competition's strategy to ensure that company's initiatives are competitive. Operate under general direction of data center vertical market leader. interface with field sales teams to coordinate and communicate performance of their business development work. Act as company interface with appropriate company functions/groups (Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.) for all activity related to major accounts. Travel North America in the development of multi-national accounts and pursuit of other strategic account opportunities. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or related field is preferred) 10+ years related experience in HVAC sales or equivalent combination of education and experience in assigned vertical market. Demonstrated successfully technical sales, business development experience. Ability to travel 50%+ Preferred Knowle ge and Skills: Data center vertical-market industry/solutions expertise. 15yrs+ demonstrated successful major account business development, solution selling results.
