Daikin Applied 2nd Shift Supervisor, ADC Test Lab, Testing in Plymouth, Minnesota

Summary: The 2nd Shift ADC Test Laboratory Supervisor is a leadership role is committed to delivering high-quality data by leading teams of Technicians responsible for testing Applied Air Handling and Applied Terminal products in the Plymouth Technology Center. A successful candidate will drive improvements across all daily operations of a multi-shift laboratory. Shift: 3:00 - 11:30 PM Responsibilities: Manages the test resources and facilities to optimize productivity and achieve project milestones. Works with internal functional leaders to identify upcoming testing needs and capabilities. Compiles and analyzes test information to determine operating efficiency of the laboratory and prioritize improvement activities. Foster a quality system aimed at improving the lab's ability to consistently produce valid test results and data Continuously improve Daikin's laboratories by utilizing lean principles including visual management and 8D problem solving techniques Apply standard work across all labs to eliminate waste and leverage best practices Recruit, develop, train and motivate team members while increasing the engagement of team members in delivering on project milestones Work closely with EHS and engineering leadership to ensure safety is a top priority for all personnel in our laboratories. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (Engineering preferred) and at least 2 years of management experience. Technical degree and 6 years of management experience will also be considered. Familiar with test equipment, laboratory testing, workflow processes and quality systems. Proficient MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word). Knowledge and demonstrated use of Visual Management, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent ability to coach, motivate and engage others to develop high performing teams. Demonstrated people leadership experience. Fundamental HVAC technical knowledge preferred. Takes innovative approaches to improve processes and solves problems. Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment and build cross-functional partnerships.
