SUMMARY

The Senior Sales Manager position leads all commercial activity and related customer communication for responsible programs; directs account management; is responsible for the development and maintenance of account relationships and sales/profitability; and directs negotiations as appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads all commercial activity and related customer communication for responsible programs.

  • The Sr. Sales Manager serves as the voice of Adient to the customer and the voice of the customer internally at Adient.

  • Strong leadership with excellent organizational skills responsible for developing creative strategies for profitable growth.

  • Initiates, develops, and grows customer relationships with purchasing, engineering, and program execution personnel, paving the way for optimal and efficient commercial negotiations.

  • Strong financial skillset and solid understanding of financial metrics.

  • Evaluates business cases and presents to leadership for approval.

  • Leads change management process from a commercial perspective and works with program excellence teams to maximize commercial opportunities during the product development process.

  • Coordinates across all product groups to develop commercial recovery strategies and to negotiate fair and reasonable commercial recoveries (obsolescence, mix changes, increased demand over CPV, scrap etc.)

  • Develops and maintains an accurate commercial action item list in support of annual company commercial commitments.

  • Understands customer documents and owns submission of necessary documents required for quotes and other commercial claims.

  • The Senior Sales Manager ensures purchase orders are updated in a timely and accurate manner upon resolution of commercial negotiation with the customer.

  • Mentors account managers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years' diverse experience in automotive manufacturing, including sales and commercial finance.

  • MBA preferred (bachelor's degrees will also be considered).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer proficiency.
