SME is an award-winning professional consulting engineering firm. Our team of experienced, responsive problem solvers provide practical and sustainable solutions for our clients as we work to build and revitalize our world.

To better serve our team members and clients, we are looking for a Safety Specialist to join and strengthen our team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with tasks for safety program (prepare memos, notices, letters, training materials; coordinate/schedule meetings and orientations; take minutes in committee meetings; prepare training certificates; track staff training, accreditation refresher dates; quarterly update safety auditing databases).
  • Conduct field safety audits and travel overnight/out-of-state to SME offices.
  • Hold safety meetings/training events (presenting to an audience/public speaking).
  • Do whatever else is necessary to contribute to the success of the safety program, improvement of SME safety culture and health/safety of all SME Team Members.
