HARIBO of America Quality Systems Manager in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin

Reporting to the Food Safety & Quality Manager, the Quality Systems Manager is responsible to design, implement and manage the facility’s food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance policies at HARIBO’s brand new state-of-the-art gummi manufacturing plant in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

The Quality Systems Manager ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal food laws and champions HARIBO’s food safety and quality systems (FSSC and internal Controls) improvement.  This role has a key impact in developing and sustaining the quality culture in the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership in the creation and sustainability of the quality culture in the facility through communication, training, and employee engagement.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor food safety & quality assurance (FSQA) programs to ensure a food safe/quality product and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate cross functionally on the execution and maintenance of all FSQA programs to gain alignment and confidence in success of the implementation.

  • Manage and analyze data related to food safety and quality metrics, conduct trend analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Manage Food Safety (HACCP Based) plans and related FSQA systems.

  • Own the Internal Audit, Pest Control, Cleaning Verification, Facility Cleaning, and Environmental Monitoring programs.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ of Science Degree in microbiology, chemistry, food science, public health or related field is required.  Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in food safety in factory environment preferred.

  • PCQI Certification, FSSC 22000/ISO 22000 Certification, and HACCP Certification. FSSC Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor certification preferred.

  • Experience implementing FSQA Programs.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or similar tools.

  • Strong working knowledge Preventative Controls for Human Food, and Local Food Regulations

  • Experience working with the FDA and local public health department.

  • Resourceful and resolute; able to problem solve and search for solutions using internal and external network/sources.

  • Ability to provide guidance and training to others.
