Job Description:

A general utility miner capable of performing the job requirements in this posting as well as being trained to operate all equipment utilized in the underground mine. This position reports to the on-shift Underground Mine Foreman. Hours are as scheduled and include overtime in the utility miner classification.

Job Requirements:

 

  • Under this position the employee must be capable and willing to learn how to operate and tram all underground diesel-powered mobile production and support equipment including performing the pre-operation checks and services.
  • Employee will be required to do a risk assessment prior to beginning work as well as a workplace examination and correct or report any potential risks identified.
  • The employee must be capable of performing scaling in a safe and productive manner using either a high reach manlift or mechanical scaler.
  • The employee must be able to operate service equipment such as utility loaders, backhoes, tractors, mine trucks, etc., around other employees in a safe manner while performing construction assignments such as building brattices, laying pipe, moving pumps, installing or moving secondary fans and other electrical support and stationary equipment.
  • The employee will be required to do minor maintenance on equipment and assist maintenance and electrical personnel as required and/or assigned.
  • The employee will do other work as directed by the Underground Mine Foreman and will work in a safe and orderly manner following all company, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Employee must be capable of following and adhering to all Federal and State regulations as well as all Graymont safety standards.
