Panther Cubs Academy Assistant Teacher Position in Platte, South Dakota

Teachers are responsible for providing early childhood education to children 6 weeks -11 years of age. If you have child care skills and know safety and first aid techniques, you would be a valuable addition to our team of dedicated teachers.

We need someone like you, who enjoys working in an environment where you laugh and enjoy caring for young students. Our classrooms are filled with young learners who are ready to dance, sing, read, draw, pretend, create, and play with teachers. We are looking for teachers who can work alongside other teachers and can quickly adapt to changing conditions and rapidly assessing the needs of young students. Job Responsibilities

  • Implementlessons that meet educational requirements in an age-appropriate manner, and teach in a manner suitable for the ages of all participating students.
  • Manage a busy classroom environment, and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning for everyone in the classroom.
  • Help children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplementary assistance.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, instructors, and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment.
  • Implement developmentally appropriatelesson plans for studentsincluding fundamental vocabulary, simple shapes, basic colors, letters, and numbers into the curriculum
  • Address basic socialskills, such as sharing, taking turns, and asking permission in the classroom.

Job Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Enjoy being with children
  • Ability to implement lesson plans
  • Familiarity with classroom management skills
  • Pass pre-employment screenings
  • Flexibility and ability to work along other teachers
  • Able lift up to 50lbs, stand and stoop for extended periods of time
  • Enjoy the outdoors

Preferred:

  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in activities
  • Priorexperience in childcare setting
