Job Title: Screed Operator - Plant City

Must have the following to apply:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years working knowledge of screed operation on asphalt paver in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, highways, parking lots and other large job sites
  • Valid Florida driver's license and ability to meet company MVR requirements
  • Ability to complete all required paperwork
  • Willing to work days, nights or weekends as needed

**Required Screenings: Drug Testing/Screening (Pre-Employment and Random); Background Checks (Local, State and Federal history check); Motor Vehicle Record.

Job Description: The company is seeking to fill a Screed Operator position for the Plant City operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requires observation of distribution of paving material along the screed and control of the screed to eliminate voids at curbs and joints
  • Set up screed electronics in conjunction with the paver operator
  • Perform normal adjustments for obtaining depth, grade and finished cross-section of asphalt material via screed control
  • Estimates overall quantity needed for the project and quantity needed for the correct grade in the finished surface
  • Requires an understanding of all aspects of paving industry including, but not limited to prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, job specifications, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving
  • Perform light mechanical adjustments and to assist with mechanic repairs on assigned equipment
  • Follow safe practices and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
