Sierra Nevada Corporation Lead Subcontract Manager in Plano, Texas

Do you enjoy being the resident expert mentoring others in the area of subcontracts management? Join our team! As a Principal Subcontracts Management Specialist, you'll develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services for our subcontract systems to guide the development, production, and global sustainment for multiple contract types. You'll be responsible for preparing our bid packages, developing evaluation criteria, analyzing and evaluating our proposals, negotiating subcontract provisions, selecting or recommending new subcontractors, and administering our subcontracts. Additionally, you'll administer standard subcontracts agreements, such as Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Material (T&M), Cost Reimbursable (CR) plus all variations of fee structures, through the entire contract lifecycle, and will lead complex negotiations of terms, price, and schedule, and will monitor subcontractor performance. You will serve as a subcontracts subject-matter-expert (SME) and mentor to the Subcontracts organization. You'll also support, develop, and/or facilitate recurring refresher compliance and FAR training to the subcontracts organization.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Experience with government federal acquisition regulations (FAR) requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • 10+ years of practical FAR Part 12 (sub)Contract experience

  • 10+ years of practical FAR Part 15 (sub)Contract experience

  • Cost / Price Analysis Experience

  • Supply chain management skills and government subcontract experience

  • Proficient negotiation skills

  • Advanced Microsoft skills

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred Skills

  • In-depth Subcontracts experience within the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry to include development, and sustainment activities programs is a plus

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME), self-starter, works independently, proactively solve problems, and detail oriented

  • Advanced understanding of production, development, services, repairs, and sustainment efforts

  • Advanced knowledge of contract types (i.e., FFP, Cost Reimbursement, T&M, CPFF, CPIF, etc.), government proposals and Basis of Estimate (BOE)

  • Advanced experience with presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate and brief leadership and executives, internally and externally

  • Successful experience with internal and external audits, to include supporting DCMA CPSR audits
