Luminator Technology Group HR Business Partner in Plano, Texas

Luminator Technology Group, a leading innovator in the design and manufacturing of communications and lighting products for more than 90 years in transit, rail, and aerospace industries. Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time HR Business Partner role to join our growing and dynamic Human Resources team where you will be an integral part of the of the organization by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The successful HR Business Partner (HRBP) candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. The HR Business Partner is responsible for driving organizational success through effective human resources practices. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with strategic business goals. The HRBP will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. In addition, they will own programs that run across the broader HR team. The HRBP must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work resulting in improved performance, retention, and overall employee experience. The HRBP role requires a flexible skill set, including the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations .

Location

This position is based at our Global Headquarters based in Plano, Texas and requires on-site presence Monday-Friday. Hybrid eligible after 90 days.

Essential Functions

Strategic HR Partnership:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies that support organizational goals.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on HR-related matters, including organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development.

  • Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Partner with the talent acquisition team to ensure the recruitment and selection process identifies and secures top talent.

  • Develop and implement retention strategies to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as a point of contact for complex employee relations issues, providing coaching and guidance to leaders and employees.

  • Conduct thorough investigations and recommend appropriate actions to ensure a fair and respectful work environment.

Performance Management:

  • Work with managers to establish and maintain effective performance management processes, including goal-setting, feedback, and development planning.

  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and performance-related issues.

Learning and Development:

  • Identify training needs and facilitate the implementation of programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge and succession planning.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Partner with the compensation team to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.

  • Provide insights and recommendations on benefits offerings to attract and retain top talent.

Compliance and Policy Implementation:

  • Stay updated on HR laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and company values.

Qualifications

The HR Business Partner will be an experienced, operationally oriented professional who can successfully lead as a very hands-on HRBP to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.

  • Experience & Education: Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years as an HR Business Partner. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

  • Certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications are preferred.

  • Comprehensive HR Knowledge: Expertise in HR functions including recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, and labor relations. Strong familiarity with personnel information systems.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced with HRIS, particularly ADP Workforce Now and/or Celergo.

  • Business Acumen & Legal Understanding: Advanced knowledge of business management and strategic workforce planning. Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations.

  • Training and Development: Skilled in designing and implementing effective training programs and assessing their impact.

  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage deadlines, and handle investigations and employee relations issues effectively. Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
