JPMorgan Chase Resiliency Testing Engineer - Cloud Applications in Plano, Texas

TRT (Tech Resiliency Testing) delivers streamlined and consistent solutions supporting JPMorgan Chase's Controls, Compliance, Legal, and IT Risk agendas, with a focus on resiliency, stability, delivery, and efficiencies. The goal of TRT is to test the firm's Data Centers, Platforms, Cloud Service Providers , and Applications ability to recover from multiple plausible destructive events.

Recoverability and Resiliency form part of the Resiliency Function within TRT and it primarily focuses on the ability of JPMorgan Chase and its businesses to continue to provide all products and services in the event of disruption. The disruptions could be minor (e.g., affecting a small segment) or major (e.g., affecting multiple businesses or a geographic area). The mission of Recoverability and Resiliency are to ensure business continuity of essential services and technology to a line of Business.

The Resiliency Tech is responsible for

  • Providing vision and execution of modernize firm-wide test events,

  • Acting as the focal point for deploying new testing paradigms across multiple LOBs and all individual groups within Technology (e.g., desktop services, network services, distributed technology, data centers, production services, and risk and security) and their respective organizational technology continuity plan responsibilities.

  • The successful candidate should be able to facilitate large meetings utilizing presentation tools and be savvy in a wide range of technologies including Cloud concepts.

Position will require some weekend work throughout the year, leading and performing support for Major Testing events. Role may also require shift support for testing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating a process to add new technology testing into the current Major Testing events

  • Rationalize all Availability/Recovery telemetry, tools and reports

  • Work across TRT to help re-invent testing to measure readiness to invocation vs a check the box scenario

  • Working with the global team, attending conference calls during normal and after normal working hours

  • Ensure control compliance with Corporate Groups

  • To represent TRT (Tech Resiliency Testing) on the Regional Resiliency Committee(s), as well as interacting with regional counterparts, as needed

  • Lead and schedule Major Testing calendar with Internal Groups to develop and agree on scope for testing (application and/or business), business groups participating, recovery locations and applications recovering. Produce a Test Overview detailing Scope and Plan, milestones and deliverables

  • Interact with the Resiliency Strategy/Governance team to ensure compliance and understanding of business scope, status, and issues for Plans, Processes and Tests.

  • Ensures that Line of Business Resiliency Leads are aware of overall Resiliency requirements, test status, deadlines, and issues within their respective portfolios

  • Own, support, develop/deliver the resiliency testing program for corporate groups

Other projects and activities will be assigned outside of the testing program for completion by the successful candidate. Additional responsibilities may include thought leadership on diverse group integration, participation on improving the process to perform Sustained Resiliency in the Public Cloud.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform weekend and/or shift work to support Testing events

  • 5+ years of diverse technical experience in applicable Testing environment

  • 3+ years of experience in leading initiatives

  • 2-3 years of technology resiliency experience

  • Demonstrated broad technical knowledge of infrastructure technologies in each of the following areas:

  • Public Cloud Components/Services

  • Data Center concepts

  • Networking Components

  • Experience in testing or program management within technology, operations, or business

  • Knowledge of Corporate IT Control policies

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute on cross-organization initiative

  • Flexibility and ability to manage schedule according to global time zones

  • High level of energy, and can work under pressure with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated project management skills - ability to lead by influence

  • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of senior managers across the organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in similar role within financial services industry

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
