Description:

Job Title: Assembler Job Description As an Assembler, you will be trained and expected to master at least 3 stations in the Disassembly and Assembly areas. As a new hire, you will be placed in one of the roles below and gradually learn more stations as you gain tenure. Your responsibilities include disassembling incoming transmissions, inspecting parts for defects, and sorting them. You will be using hoist lifts to move heavy parts around, but there will be times where you will have to manually move components weighing between 30-50lbs. Your tasks also include assembling subassemblies in an assembly line fashion, and you will be expected to complete at least 30 units/day of your part of the process. As part of the assembly process, you will be stacking gears onto the main shaft, adding bolts and gaskets to the casing, and using hand tools to complete subassemblies. The completed units can weigh up to 50lbs, and you will be expected to maneuver them at your station. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Plainfield, Indiana. Work Environment You will be working in a remanufacturing plant where used parts and transmissions come in. The plant is clean and organized, with air conditioning, big fans, and heat in the winter for your comfort. Safety is taken very seriously, with weekly safety meetings and records of all near-misses. There are multiple cultures on site, so the ability to work together with others is a must. You can have your phone on you but cannot use it on the floor. Music and speakers are allowed, but not headphones for safety reasons. Break rooms are equipped with microwaves, vending machines, and plenty of tables. Your shift will be from 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. For your safety, you are required to wear hearing protection, safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and long pants. Long hair must be pulled up when around equipment.

MUST HAVE: 1. Experience using hand and power tools (Hammer, wrench minimum) 2. Mechanical aptitude to understand how a transmission comes together once trained 3. Demonstrated attention to detail (how they pick up, quality check, take apart, and build really matter to stay safe and ensure no defects are made into the product) 3. Ability to stand on feet for 8-10 hour shift 4. Steel Toed Shoes ($125 boot voicher every year once FTE) 5. Willingness AND Ability to take and apply feedback. They have a solid training staff, but that means that criticism and coaching WILL COME. People have to be willing to take the feedback and apply. 6. Must demonstrate ability to work safely around heavy objects (avoid pinch points, use hoist when required, not dropping, etc) 7. Ability to lift 50lbs
