Out Pittsfield Client is seeking a Welder/Fabricator for a Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm position in Pittsfield. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing a variety of welding involving fabrication, alteration, and repairs of metal parts for custom automobiles. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Weld and fabricate metal components per drawing/prints and work orders - Layout fits and welds components for assembly based on pre-designed specifications - Grind off excess weld, slag or splatter, using hand scraper, power chipper or portable grinder, and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion - Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions \"Responsible for sound welds and accuracy of assembly - Observe and identify any fault in equipment, material and assembly process, then notifying supervisors - Control the processes of fitting burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheating and/or distortion of the parts - Clamping, holding, tack welding, heat bending, bolting, or grinding parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements - Requisition parts and equipment as necessary - Liaise with supervisor on problems to achieve efficient repair - Maintain a clean and tidy work area - Complete all documentation including inspection sheets, certificates, and receipts applying signatures as appropriate - Identify abnormalities and repairs required as result of internal actions and advise the supervisor accordingly - Identify areas of process improvement, cost and waste reduction - Work in an efficient and timely manner - Undertake relevant training and development as required - Carry out work orders within a realistic time line ensuring that deadlines are met - Maintain cooperative working relationships, and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population - Record all hours worked accurately - Other duties as assigned DESIRED EXPERIENCE: - 2 years similar experience - Experience with MIG and TIG welding - Mechanical Aptitude Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, Drug Screen (including Marijuana) and a Fit for Duty physical. #ESPriority
