City of Pittsfield Playground Leader in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

The City of Pittsfield\'s Recreation Department is seeking outgoing, qualified individuals to fill the seasonal position of Playground Leader. Under the direction of the Recreation and Special Events Coordinator, the Playground Leader is responsible for administering and supervising the summer playground program in their designated park, working with children 6 to 13 years of age. RESPONSIBILITIES - Must work effectively with Playground Supervisor and members of the public and respond to inquiries and complaints in a positive and professional manner. - Supervises program attendees, reports problems or issues to the supervisor. - Implements daily structured programs, aids in preparation of final program evaluation. - Assures adequate supplies and materials are available for program implementation. - Responsible for keeping the park grounds clean of all debris and assists in keeping the restrooms and storage areas clean and presentable. - Attends program staff meetings and/or trainings as directed by the supervisor. - Performs other duties as assigned or required. QUALIFICATIONS - Must be able to work the duration of the program. - Must be 15 years of age or older. - Candidates under the age of 18 must provide an Employment Permit (working papers), which may be obtained from the Pittsfield School Administration Building. HOURS 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm SALARY \$16.94 - \$22.69 per hour. Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
