Elder Services of Berkshire County Inc. Ombudsman Program Manager in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Elder Services seeks a program manager to recruit, train and supervise volunteer staff who are responsible for improving the quality of care in long term care facilities while also protecting the rights, benefits and entitlements of residents. The program manager will assist volunteers, administration and/or residents in resolving situations of concern which may adversely affect the quality of care, health, finances, welfare and autonomy of that person. They will also act as the resident\'s advocate when necessary to ensure that residents\' rights are respected The program manager position is also expected to document and provide reports in a timely fashion, publicize the program, attend meetings, provide community education, and information and referral regarding all aspects of long term care. In addition, in-service trainings are provided to the staff of the long term care facilities and Elder Services\' Volunteer Ombudsman. Bachelor degree required, three years\' experience working with elders or disabled persons in a community setting and working with volunteers is required. Experience in long term care and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations preferred. This position works Monday through Friday, and reports to the Community Services Director.
