18 Degrees Cook/Nutritionist in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

At 18 Degrees, we cultivate teams and leaders to embrace the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness to support the needs of our community. The Cook/Nutritionist is a full-time role performing meal preparation for our multiple childcare sites.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Meal Preparation and Programing

  • Following and preparing weekly menu based on USDA standard requirements
  • Manage Special Meal Accommodations and Food Allergy meals substitutions for children
  • Provide guidance to Educators and annual trainings
  • Responsible for Commodities [i.e., Food] and additional ordering within budget
  • Coordinate with teachers/directors for offsite meal deliveries and special events

Kitchen Maintenance and Safety, including Serve-safe Certifications and Allergen Certification

  • Coordinate equipment maintenance of refrigerator, freezer, oven, and stove
  • Cleaning and organizing, washing, and storing dishes and cooking utensils

Management Duties

  • Oversight of an Assistant Cook and High School Interns
  • Responsible for inventory management and documentation
  • Take lead on licensing and permits as required for kitchen service areas
  • Comply with Regulations
