Position Overview:

ePS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator with a strong background in DevOps practices and a thorough understanding of PCI processes to join our Cloud Services team in our Pittsburgh, PA office with a hybrid weekly in-office days and work from home days .

In this position, you will be responsible for some of the most critical tasks in ePS’s Cloud Services team. This will involve handling escalated issues in the customer-facing, revenue-generating environment, deployment of software into QA and production environments, and self-directed projects in several areas, ensuring seamless operations and adhering to PCI compliance standards.

The position handles vital operations for live, customer-facing, revenue-generating systems. The daily duties include creating and managing servers and databases, automating processes, troubleshooting software releases in controlled QA environments and live production as required.

The ideal candidate would be a good team player with good communication skills, a passion for documentation, and a willingness to follow processes and procedures.

Position Duties:

  • The Systems Administrator will monitor and troubleshoot servers, network devices and services on systems that are operational in ePS sites in different parts of the world.

  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring servers and services using existing monitoring systems to identify both immediate and chronic issues.

  • The candidate will follow and develop processes and procedures related to routine audits, routine processes and procedures which will always be required to keep the environment healthy and running. Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement DevOps best practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).

  • Implement and maintain security controls to ensure compliance with PCI standards.

  • Learn and follow all department standards and procedures. And automate processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and implement solutions.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.

  • The candidate will be responsible for configuring and managing virtual machines under the VMware environment and AWS, including the overall design and security of the environments. This may include more areas of broad responsibility to manage toward objectives. For example, consistent uptime and performance for one or two products.

  • The candidate will monitor consistent throughput, completion and troubleshooting backups, SAN replication, virtual machine replication, and operations within ePS’s Cloud Infrastructure.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.

  • Must have 4+ years’ experience with Windows 2016 and 2019 servers.

  • Familiarity with cloud/virtualization platforms, especially AWS & VMWare.

  • Understanding of PCI DSS requirements and experience implementing and maintaining PCI compliance.

  • The successful candidate will have a conceptual or technical understanding of a number of these: Linux, web servers, security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, relational databases including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

  • Experience with Veeam or other enterprise-class backup software is a plus.

  • Industry certifications (MCSE, RHCE, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are encouraged.

  • ASP, VB, PowerShell or other scripting/development knowledge is a plus.

  • Must be able to come into the Pittsburgh, PA office on the hybrid work schedule.
