Reference #: R74736 Senior Systems V&V Engineer (Smith & Nephew, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA): Manage and own all aspects of system verification for programs within a work stream, including determining creation, management and ownership of testing strategy, integration testing, robustness testing strategies, and defect management. Participate in requirements discussions and provide input to testability of requirements as necessary. Understand impact of detailed design on the overall system to create detailed test strategies. Author verification plans, protocols, test cases, summary reports, trace matrix and other related technical documentation. Work with the systems engineers, hardware/software test engineers, and R&D engineers to drive and lead the test strategy creation and execution for key programs and releases.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role in the Medical Device industry. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in the job offered or related role in the Medical Device industry.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in the following: Identifying, reporting, tracking, and prioritizing hardware and software defects using defect management systems (such as JIRA). Executing verification and validation tests. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in the following: Authoring verification and validation test plans and protocols and executing tests Authoring and/or participating in design reviews, design FMEAs, and documentation for regulatory submissions (such as for FDA, EU MDR) 40% telecommuting permitted (Pittsburgh, PA area).

Must be willing to travel up to 10% (75% domestic; 25% International) to visit other Smith & Nephew offices, suppliers (e.g., offshore teams), and customers to provide support.
