We are seeking an exceptional Senior Executive Assistant to join our Executive Support team and support some of our Engineering leaders.

You Will...

  • Partner with 2 C-level executives (the Chief Engineering Officer and the Chief Technology Officer) and provide lighter support to one VP of Engineering to handle administrative work for them

  • Identify ways that your executives can use their time better and things you can take off their plate or start on their behalf - acting as a true thought partner

  • Handle very lively, complex executive calendars independently, proactively clearing overlaps, offering solutions, assuring agendas are clear, etc.

  • Plan polished events for executives’ teams and guests, including but not limited to, off-sites, team building events, executive dinners, annual Engineering-wide Summit (400+ people), team celebrations, etc.

  • Help with drafting communications, owning follow-ups, taking notes, staying on top of action items, etc. (task management)

  • Conduct sophisticated travel planning, ensuring your leaders have everything they need for smooth travel (this could include hotels, flights, Visas, passport renewals, liaising with embassies, etc.)

  • Act as a mentor to more junior Executive Assistants on the team

  • Provide occasional personal work support to our CTO / co-founder, which could take about 10-15% of your time

  • Provide back-up for other Executive Assistants, as needed

You Have...

  • An exceptional ability to build trusting, strategic relationships with many types of people in a variety of roles, especially executive leadership

  • Outstanding ability to act reliably by solving problems proactively and prioritizing time and tasks

  • Outstanding attention to detail, especially as it relates to handling calendars and written communication

  • Tech-savviness - you like to learn and work with technology

  • Resilience to navigate challenging priorities and constant change

  • True enjoyment from helping others and building a strong office environment

  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal), the ability to read between the lines and provide tailored updates to your supported leaders and fellow Executive Support Team

Requirements...

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as an Executive Assistant

  • A significant amount of time providing executive support in a 2:1 ratio or smaller, providing support to executives with large teams, and working at a tech or fast-paced company

  • Experience planning 10+ complex, executive-level events, including for 100s (or more) people

  • Proficiency in G-suite, Slack, Zoom, and Mac

  • Ability and desire to work in our Pittsburgh Duolingo office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays)

Exceptional Candidates Will Have...

  • Experience supporting technology execs and/or c-level execs

  • Passion for language learning or education

  • Super admin experience with Google Suite

  • Experience collaborating with executives who are not colocated with you

  • Qualification as a notary

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$91,800 - $192,000 USD
