DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you will be responsible for protecting our property and people from fire, theft, trespass, or other hazards. You will patrol grounds by vehicle and on foot, and make rounds of buildings, grounds, parking, and storage areas to check for violations of fire and safety rules and regulations. You will direct and control traffic and parking, and enforce the rules of the facility as they pertain to motor vehicles. You will also answer telephone calls and assist visitors, residents, and employees by providing directions and information. Additionally, you will conduct investigations by gathering evidence and interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects.

*Work Schedule and Additional Information: *

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with rotating work days.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience or training required.

*Necessary Special Requirement: *

  • You must possess a current Pennsylvania driver's license which is not under suspension.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be willing and able to work in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
  • You must be willing to work a permanent, full-time schedule.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in the security field.
  • Previous work experience in a nursing-type facility searching for residents or assisting residents during an emergency.

*Legal Requirements:*

  • A conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
