UPMC Research Specialist | The YETI Lab in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The YETI Lab (www.yetilab.pitt.edu), under the supervision of Dr. Leslie Horton, is seeking a full-time Research Specialist to assist with study visits and participant recruitment for the YETI Phone Study, an NIMH-funded R01 study examining stress dysregulation in adolescents and emerging adults at clinical high-risk for psychosis. The Research Specialist will be conducting study visits and research procedures (e.g., clinical and cognitive assessments, ambulatory assessment, heart-rate based psychophysiology data collection) with young people; assisting with project management and research tasks as needed.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).

  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field.

  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.

  • Clinical or other work/ volunteer experience with adolescents and/or young adults strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.

  • Previous experience with REDCap, heart rate variability data, and/or ambulatory assessment data preferred.

  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
