University of Pittsburgh Research Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Pediatrics in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor full-time, appointment stream position within the Pediatric division.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD, MD/PhD, or MD degree and have research interests relevant to pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck, otology, neurotology, and/or auditory disorders. The focus of this position will be research efforts in the area of pediatric otolaryngology and related topics. Strong consideration will be given to candidates whose research interests are relevant to understanding the role. Experience with clinical research, clinical trials, and success in obtaining external research funding will also be highly considered.

The position is responsible for supporting the pediatric division's research program, collaborating with the Department of Otolaryngology faculty and other external research contacts to conduct research, assisting with the submission of proposals to secure externally sponsored research funding, and is responsible for the conduct and reporting of research projects and dissemination of research results. For this research, candidates should have proven skills and expertise in analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, demonstrated working knowledge of standard clinical research and laboratory policies, procedures, and equipment, and the ability to communicate in oral and written form with all levels of personnel and technical publications, and must be able to work well independently or as a team member.
