Role Description We are seeking Engineering Technicians to join our world-class Anode Process team.  This team is responsible for developing and validating processes used to manufacture the iron electrodes used in Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery. This role is embedded directly in the process engineering team and will support various anode manufacturing efforts. In this role, you will participate in experiments and production trials at pilot scale and work to develop and improve novel electrode manufacturing techniques. You'll use your mechanical and electrical expertise to work closely with equipment design engineers, operations, and facilities teams to design, develop, scale, and control  novel electrode manufacturing processes for Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a significant and daily impact on a cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major improvements to grid reliability and sustainability.

This role will start in Eighty Four, PA and then transition to Weirton, WV in 2024 upon completion of our factory construction. What you'll do:

Partner with our Anode Equipment Team to fine-tune and optimize new equipment with a focus on safety and process capability

Conduct engineering trials and data collection with careful attention to to detail and effective documentation (notes and photos)

Document and improve the process steps required to deliver a large volume of quality product-scale anodes to be used in Form Energy's batteries by authoring SOPs using Microsoft Word or equivalent softwares

Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and new processes from the Process Engineering Team to the Operations team through in-depth training and on-the-floor operations support

Work hands-on using hand and power tools to modify, build, and assemble new equipment, tools, and fixtures critical to the operation of our production lines.

Problem-solve and troubleshoot novel mechanical challenges on first-of-its-kind production equipment and manufacturing processes

Be a champion for safety in the development of new equipment and manufacturing processesWhat you'll bring:

5+ years of experience in a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and manufacturing process knowledge

Experience ex cuting manufacturing trials with diligent attention to detail and a high standard for quality is key

Hands-on experience with medium to large manufacturing equipment and desire to roll up your sleeves and fill the gaps where necessary

Experience working with tools to fabricate and assemble manufacturing fixtures and components in a production setting

Moderate level of comfort with computer software such as Microsoft Office or the Google Suite

Powder processing, high temperature heat treating, welding, and precision measurement experience or related required
