Job Description

We are looking for a Print Shop Technician to produce mail volumes for the high-speed insert machine that breaks mail down into three different types of envelopes. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite.

Due to our end client and project work, all candidates must be US citizens.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate high-speed letter inserting equipment according to published procedures and policies

  • Utilize the unit’s job tracking software to manage incoming work and process by priority and job set-up

  • Set-up equipment to meet mail processing requirements for metered or permit mail

  • Follows standard safety practices in operating equipping and using materials

  • Perform peripheral operations tasks such as Mail Preparation, USPS Priority Mail, UPS, and Fed-Ex shipping

  • Set-up jobs using Job Ticket information with correct inserts, endorsements, and postage requirements

  • Provides continuous quality check of inserted mail and balances envelope account against control reports as required

  • Minimize waste, review printed products before inserting for quality and accuracy

  • Use department’s turnover tool (MS Teams) to report status and ongoing issues

  • Monitor equipment operation by conducting periodic tests and verifications on mail quality

  • Ensures the inserting equipment is operating as designed

  • Apply daily maintenance to equipment to ensure optimal operation and efficiency speed

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, provide operator adjustment, and executes timely escalation of equipment problems when required

  • Performs other duties as assigned and may include but not limited to the following: project participation, online training, meetings and other work associated with production floor duties, maintenance, or cleaning

What You'll Need

Required:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Effective clear communication skills

  • Willingness and ability to learn new tasks/skills quickly

Preferred:

  • Previous industrial/commercial print operations experience

  • Previous mailroom experience

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods

  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another

  • Ability to conduct repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, or fingers

  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person

  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25-50 pounds regularly

  • Must be able to work in environments with consistent levels of nondescript noise
