The University of Pittsburgh, Ophthalmology Department is searching for a Post Doctoral Associate who will focus on the following:

Implementation Science Mission:

Apply implementation science principles to the community service and remote access initiatives: Use evidence-based strategies to enhance the adoption and maintenance of best practices in routine eye care delivery.

Address evidence-to-practice gaps: Develop and implement interventions to overcome barriers and improve care quality.

Promote research and publication: Disseminate findings related to eye care delivery through scholarly publications.

Community Service Program Management:

Coordinate all community service activities: Collaborate closely with the Director to develop program-level workflows based on stakeholder input (including medical staff, students, and community partners).

Work with staff at community care sites and volunteers

Build strong relationships with partner organizations: Facilitate collaborative events that promote access to eye care services.

Oversee Vision Institute Community Service and Remote Access Missions:

Oversee the operations of this initiative, ensuring effective delivery of eye care services. Including Guerrilla Eye Service, eyeVan Mobile, MoM, additional services

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

Ensure smooth program operation and alignment with the overall mission.

Enhance coordination and address any challenges.

MD or PhD with Science-based degree desired, Ophthalmology experience preferred.
